I used Emacs for many years,&lt;br&gt;and I'm pretty damn good at it.  However, after I finally broke down&lt;br&gt;and tried vim for a few months, I really think that modal keybindings&lt;br&gt;are much cleaner and faster than Emacs-style ones.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Anyway, my current solution is to use vim for quick edits, and Emacs +&lt;br&gt;viper + vimpulse.el for good vim keybindings in Emacs.
